Mercedes G63 AMG

- Nobody is perfect. But if you drive this G63, you’re pretty damn close. -

And that’s not a lie. The Mercedes Geländewagen is nowadays an icon in the area of the posh area of southern Amsterdam, also unstoppable as soon as the paved roads end. Only then, then you understand why Mercedes has been producing this car for over forty years (almost) unchanged.

Many special variations have been released over the past forty years, where even the Pope in Rome had one built with a glass dome on the back. Ours certainly falls into the ‘special’ category, it is the G63 AMG. And yes, that double G also stands for the fuel label. But is that what it’s about? No. The brutal rumble in the 5.5 liter V8 with double turbos. That’s what it’s about.

Incidentally, it’s also about saying goodbye to a fantastic period. The period with ‘non-lying’ references in type designations, resonance speakers for engine sound and the period without Ethanol E10. How nice it used to be… In addition, the first (and current) owner ticked off the entire list of options, apart from the daring colour (we love it!). The interior is completely baptised in Designo cows and the kids in the back can watch TV with headphones. In the back they are quiet, waiting for your wife to fall asleep and then teasing Porsches on the Autobahn. We totally get it.

She is fully dealer maintained, has only given out smiles for 65,000 kilometres and is now ready for her next G-weldenaar. Will we see you soon?‍
