L'histoire de cette pièce de collection...
A Cool Classic of Cool Classics: the Jaguar E-type Series 1 4.2 Coupe. Our Series 1 FHC is built for the real driver, not for decoration. Her beautiful British Racing Green shows some patina and has 50 shades of Green. The bar behind the seats (stabilization and belts) already gives it away a little. Apart from the Sunday rides, you can also use this Series 1 for the more serious work. The tripmaster is present, the engine has just a little extra power and the sound... Well, that is simply indescribable!
The Jag is very well maintained and still has its original gearbox and engine, which makes it a matching numbers. This can be checked, the E-type is equipped with a Jaguar Trust Certificate.
In addition to the extensive documentation and execution, this Jag is executed in one of the (we think) most beautiful color combinations. British Racing Green with a black leather interior.
The car was designed as a two-seater GT coupe (FHC) and a two-seater convertible (OTS). For the first six months, all but a few E-types were built with the steering wheel on the left, mainly for the American market. Only a few were built for the British market and these were supplied to specially selected celebrities. The rest had to wait for six months.
The Series 1 was fitted with a 3.8-litre straight-six engine that came from the XK150S. In 1964, the engine capacity was increased to 4.2 litres. With this upgrade, the Series 1 4.2 got a top speed of 241 km/h (!). Ours also has something like bigger carburetors, better cooling and an (almost) open exhaust. Necessary? Absolutely not. Fun? a Fasterpiece!!! See you soon?
