"Aerodynamics are for people that can't build engines"
- Enzo Ferrari
And they take that quite literally, because for a time the "new" Ferrari was delivered on the chassis of its predecessor and the engine was developed further. It wasn't much different with the F430, it is on a 360 chassis. Under the skirt of Pininfarina, Frank Stephenson (also responsible for the 'new Mini') drew the F430. As with the Mini, the 430 has many nods. For example, the nostrils refer to the '61 Ferrari 156 Formula One racer. And it worked; At speed, the average mother-in-law came to sit on your nose, 150 kg of downforce!
And then a word about the beating heart; The F136-V8. A completely new engine compared to the 360. As the name suggests, a 4.3-liter eight-cylinder that embarrasses most V-tec blocks with its 8,700 rpm range (beeeeaaaaaaaaaa-a-a-a-a-ap). Most automakers make every new model more fuel-efficient, however, Ferrari does a nice Esclusivamente di. Right. Not with it, in other words. More range though, we just enlarge the gasoline tank!
The F1 bin when it was introduced with the F355 was only for the men with lots of chest hair. Shocks, slaps and it really had to get hot. In the 430 it was already a lot better, so much better that we can slide its "temperament" with shifting under the heading of character and emotion.
Ours is once again a little éxtra delicious.... Her 70 pounds more is negligible, but because of that you have your red prancing bump - topless! That howling V8 and the mechanical side noises, the sloshing cooling water and as fickle as current gasoline prices. This is emotion, pure sang. Her interior is richiesta special, something with even more red stitching and black leather. And then there's the mileage. Only 9,765, she has just been broken in... If you ask us, Assolutamente unico! A presto?
The client is not always right. - Enzo Ferrari.
