L'histoire de cette pièce de collection...
The Austin Healey MK 3000 is a car that we hold in high regard. The basic principles of car enthusiasts; a big 2.9 liter 6-in-line engine in the front with about 150 British horses, rear-wheel drive, nice and stiff and a large steering wheel. The spartan character makes it a real driver's car. There were not many options; even the exterior mirrors, cigarette lighter and spoke wheels were optional. Ours later added a (must-have Healey) option; The sidepipes.
Between 1959 and 1967 Austin made 36,816 Healeys; the Mark I, Mark II and the one we were allowed to welcome in our clubhouse, the Mark III. The Mark I's bodywork was made by Jensen Motors and the assembly by BMC. Of the Mark III, 17,712 eventually rolled off the production line. Thanks to the birth of another British icon, the Mini, production was unfortunately stopped in 1968. Austin needed all its capacity for the immensely popular Austin Mini!
Our Healey is a specimen that can be described as "in mint condition". The MK3000 was owned by the last owner for no less than 18 years, who, in addition to the hobby of driving, clearly also had a hobby of cleaning! Under the bonnet she shines just as beautifully as on the outside. With that knowledge you drive even better, believe us. In terms of colour composition, actually everything a classic Brit should be; British racing green, a dark interior and walnut. The documentation is very complete and everything has been kept in detail. The engine and gearbox are matching, so that also covers the rational thoughts.
If you are ready for short gears, real driving and guaranteed thumbs up; This is it!
