The days when our TV still switched channels with push buttons on the tube and the days when smoking was still healthy. Time for a real classic. According to Enzo Ferrari, to the great displeasure of other style icons, the most beautiful car ever made. The jaguar E-type.

The 4.2 litre large six-in-line as the beating heart of the black feline sounds like no other. An aggressive snare and yet stylish. Ours is from the second series, which is more comfortable than the Series 1. This time the headlights were fitted with closing lenses (reduces condensation), the bumper fitted better to the body and the cooling and brakes were also given a major upgrade.

Jaguar also realised that the E-type was not only sold to the tough guys who had no problem with the heavy steering and wet back on arrival. So power steering and air conditioning were added to the option list. This first owner ticked both.

Ours is again special. The previous owner restores his cars with all the love, time and dedication needed to bring such a petroleum icon back to life. For example, he chose to use a more modern Jaguar colour, have the entire interior done with self-tinting piping and replace the 4-barge for the XJ6 4-barge with overdrive. Of course, for the matching numbers purists, the original gearbox is still present as well. But what a good drive this upgrade... After restoration it has only travelled 1,200 kilometres and is already looking for the next gentleman. Because that's what you are with an E-type.
