La historia detrás de este coleccionable...
- Every journey is an event in the E60 550i -
The BMW E60 5 series was a much-discussed car when it came out. Many people had to get used to the design and the question was whether it would be received in the same way as the previous generation 5. In the end it was a sales hit and the E60 has something that few modern cars have; it keeps getting more beautiful. From the 5 series stable, we have the wolf in sheep's clothing. The M5 has four thick exhaust pipes and a howling V10 under the hood. Ours has a very thick 4.8 V8 under the hood, but outside of its M package, it doesn't show that. All designations have been removed from the BMW and -it could easily be- a 525i. Until you're at the traffic lights, then you're just joining in with Porsche bullying!
The 4.8 liter V8 block has a lot of torque and a very dual personality. She loves to drive quietly, on torque and low in the revs. Without realizing it, you are driving into the danger zone for your pink card. As soon as you give the fünfer some space, you are treated to a V8 roar and she pulls to 200 kilometers per hour in 19 seconds. This is faster than the same generation Audi S6 V10 (!). The color combination and equipment (no options) complete this E60. The carbon schwartz, which stands for deep dark blue, gives the BMW a distinctive appearance. As soon as you get in, you understand BMW's slogan: Freude am fahren. The brown leather sports seats are perfect, the thick leather M steering wheel feels great in the hands and via the Head-Up display you are confronted with her bizarre performance.
Ours is of course a bit extra special. She started her life as a demo car at BMW Berlin, then she was sold via BMW Dusseldorf to her previous owner, who always had her serviced at Kalfsbeek BMW. Now she has recently been a youngtimer and has only driven 114 thousand kilometers. So; who's looking for a sports car that you can also drive to work in - without having to park her around the corner? This is it!
