Originally delivered new in the Netherlands by Hessing – the Royal purveyor for anyone who thought a Mercedes was just a bit too ordinary.
This 1996 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur is anything but ordinary. It’s long, it’s wide, it weighs nearly two and a half tonnes – and yet, it’s remarkably swift and wonderfully smooth. Beneath the bonnet lies the iconic 6.75-litre V8, producing some 300 horsepower, though the exact figure is almost irrelevant. The only thing that matters is that, as Rolls-Royce famously say, it’s “adequate.”
The Silver Spur was the extended version of the Silver Spirit – a bit like walking into a Rolls-Royce showroom and saying, “I’ll have the same, but in a larger size, please – the dog needs legroom too.”
Inside, it’s a celebration of Connolly leather and burl walnut, enough to build an entire yacht if you fancied it.
Originally delivered in the Netherlands, just three owners from new, and with a valid MOT until 2026 – in short, a Rolls-Royce as indestructible as the British monarchy.
