Where the TJ had to make the YJ forget the image of uhm.. soap-mobile, the Wrangler mainly stood for conservative superiority. A terrain dominance further developed from the Willy. In 2006 they decided to completely replace the -in the basic- 65 year old technology. Jeep spent no less than one and a half presidents (yes, did you get it? 6 years!!) before the JK was born. End result? A robust, large car that holds its own in any terrain. Clearly made for the terrain, not mainly for the wind tunnel..
Did this go without a hitch? After all 2007 copies were recalled for extra stabilizer bars; Det 110, the two front wheels started to argue with each other.. And after Fiat was finally allowed to interfere with the interior in 2011, the teething problems were solved. Our 2017 is from the last year before it was replaced by the JL, which only has small 4-cylinder engines under the hood. We know which one we choose…. Sorry Groenlinks!
Ours is as you are used to, a little extra special. With the fully electrically operated hood, it is topless within 30 seconds and in the summer the doors can be replaced with nets. With its lift kit, bull bars and Winge, you will never be surprised on the way to the riding school or the beach. That's nice. The model and parts come directly from America. The chance that the neighbor has the same one is seriously small. Will we see you soon?
