Jaguar XJ Coupe 5.3 V12 Series II Project
Specifications
The story behind this collectible...
A Jaguar XJ 12 Coupe series II with the 5.3 liter V12 offered for sale as a project.
The Jag Coupe started its life in 1977 in England (was registered in England in early 1978) as number 499 of the 750 that were eventually produced. The XJ coupe was purchased in Oxford in 1998 by the current owner.
Because the steering was 'on the wrong side' for Dutch roads, it was converted to left-hand drive.
The engine block and transmission have run 93,000 miles and function completely as it should.
Furthermore, the D-injection has been changed to the P-injection system (the successor to the D-system). Everything has been moved with this (computer, control wiring harness and other electronic items). The heater housing, wiring harness and heater fans also come from the latest series XJ to ensure more comfort.
In addition to the technically good condition and modernizations, the bodywork of the car has been completely overhauled. The body is currently completely bare and has been fitted with new box girders, inner box girders, jack points, fuel tank frame, trunk floor, inner and outer screens and chassis inlay. The doors and bottom of the rear seat have been professionally repaired.
The interior is original (carriage brown) and has only very light signs of use. The project only needs to be sprayed and rebuilt. All parts are present. A perfect investment for the hobbyist!
