The story behind this collectible...

You know that feeling when you book an expensive hotel room with your loved one. You step inside, enjoying the excess; everything surprisingly soft but reassuringly solid. You plop down and tell each other that the vacation has now truly begun. That's the feeling Rolls Royce wants to promise its owners every day.

In pre-war times, there were already a lot of Rolls Royce owners who owned a cottage in the south of France. Many of them, wearing straw hats and boat shoes, would then take a photo at the "Grande-Corniche," a breathtaking view on the French Riviera. To appeal to precisely this audience with a beautiful luxury convertible, the Rolls Royce open touring was christened the Corniche.

As a stunt to exhibit comfort, Rolls Royce drove the convertible up and down to Marseilles from the factory in one day. This caught on, resulting in a meteoric popularity that made even the richest of the rich have to wait a long time before they could let their hair down in style. Needless to say, what the car was designed for: enjoying absolute luxury in the most beautiful, sunny places on earth.

Ours? Original from California, where they can feast on over the top luxury, too. They also get bored quickly, because it has less than 34,000 miles on the odometer, so the training wheels have just been taken off. So just warmed up, and fully serviced. You're not going to find them any better. So dust off the Canon or pull the iPhone 16 pro max super deluxe out of your pocket, dive into the Magnolia Hide Leather interior with Wilton wool carpet and lambswool mats, lower the electric roof and pop the turbocharged 6.75 liter V8 towards the Corniche. Did you already know that only 374 of these examples were built and of those, only 112 were LHD?
