"Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine"
- Elvis Presley
An eight-cylinder engine, almost as long as a soccer field, two doors, going topless. Welcome to the world of the 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Series 62. Designed by the legendary Harley Earl, this masterpiece embodies everything that makes Cadillac the undisputed king of over-the-top, over-the-top luxury.
The 1955 Eldorado Series 62 is a design icon. Executed in the rare and original color "Copper Poly" (paint code 96), and paired with a beige leather interior (trim code 95), this car offers more legroom than many a New York apartment. With only 8,150 produced, the '55 Eldorado Series 62 Cabriolet is one of the most sought-after Cadillacs of the postwar period.
As the most expensive model, the '55 Eldorado Series 62 Cabriolet had a unique rear end, with tall, slender, pointed tail fins and dual round taillights midway up the fenders. Standard equipment included a custom interior, power brakes, power seats, power windows, radio, heater and whitewalls.
What really sets this Eldorado apart are unique features such as the ribbed chrome saddle trim that extends from the windshield to the rear window pillar, and the dual engine hood ornaments. It comes equipped with all the right Eldorado options, including Sabre Spoke wheels, a 331ci 270 horsepower engine with dual carburetors, and the rare fiberglass "parade boots" for the convertible top, as well as the iconic and highly sought-after Continental Kit.
This Eldorado is in absolute new condition thanks to a thorough "body-off" restoration, documented with photos and detailed documentation of the technical overhaul. The craftsmanship is evident in the beautiful paint, excellent chrome and perfectly maintained interior. It is fully matched and functions perfectly. With recently installed new radial tires with wide white sidewalls (BF Goodrich Silvertown), this Eldorado is not only an optical spectacle, but also a technical masterpiece.
Not only beautiful to look at, but also a real star. Winner of the "Best of Show" award at the 2013 Worldwide Cadillac GE Show, this car is in concours condition and without a doubt one of the best available worldwide. A unique opportunity for the enthusiast and collector to own a piece of Cadillac's golden era.
Don't let this opportunity pass you by.
