In 1972 the “BMW Motorsport” department was opened. 30 men worked full time to improve existing BMWs for the track. In 1978, the public was first opened to what the -‘people who suffer from the same as you and me’- wanted.

A classic wolf in sheep’s clothing. The front spoiler, mirrors, slightly thicker wheels, and modest spoiler gave a small hint of what was to come. The modest traits do end there; A 5.0-liter V8 with 400 Bavarian-kicking horses lurks behind the two – compared to the modern… – beautiful BMW kidneys!

At the time, the BMW M-Performance department fitted the most advanced engine ever for a production car. As soon as the M5 wakes up, the adaptive tachometer stands out. As the horses warm up, the limiter disappears from 4,500 RPM to 7,000 RPM. Two completely different settings, changeable with a “Power button”. Next to it is another button. The DSG, or party button. Not the fastest, crossover, but the most fun!

Ours is the way you want it. Carbon-schwartz, 60 thousand kilometers and fully dealer maintained. All documentation is present with the M5. A youngtimer that is also very interesting from an investment point of view. Say it yourself, it’s a fasterpiece!
