The story behind this collectible...

When driving a Lagonda, you have such good manners. Even at 80 mph.

Lagonda is a brand that unfortunately isn't mentioned a lot these days. In the 1920s it was known for its high quality four and six-cylinders with sporty character. The 16/80 used an engine block from Crossley motors LTD, which was a 2 liter 6 in line setup. To ensure quality, Lagonda first took each block completely apart before assembling it to its own standards to ensure quality. This together with the E.N.V pre-selector transmission made it one of the most sought after assemblies. Although the first few meters take some getting used to (clutch and brake are reversed), it is a wonderful combination for pre-war driving!

The special thing about our 16/80 is that its body is completely original. So it's not a retrofitted special, but an official Tourer body, with its original transmission and engine. Also a distant predecessor of the S-Class with night vision; her counters are colored in such a way that you can keep track of the vital things in the dark. And then the colors... British Racing Green with a black interior; as a british classic should be!

Another well known name in our classics has shown his expertise in replacing the bottom. All bottom plates have been replaced by Bas Jansen. She has also been maintained in such a way that she is ready for many more Sunday kilometers! Will we see you soon?
