The story behind this collectible...

Whenever we discuss a luxury off-road vehicle, everyone used to think of a Range Rover. Fortunately, that spectrum is now a bit broader with the Bentayga and Cullinan. And now, with the latest trend, also Restomods! This time no prestigious Tophat, but definitely a pioneer. A Jeep Wagoneer. A car that, let's be honest, does not immediately come to mind. But is synonymous with luxury, ease of use and off-road capability. And so, in addition to the Discovery and G-Class, a record cult hero was born in the States. It first came onto the market in 1963 and was built on the basis of -almost the same- ladder chassis until 1993.

When Jeep thought it absolutely could not go wrong with its icons in the late 80s, it wanted to do some cross-pollination. Something we understand from a marketing perspective, but also something that often doesn’t go so well… The Jeep Wagoneer was briefly called the Cherokee Wagoneer, there was a Wagoneer Limited, the Grand Cherokee and for those who thought the ‘new’ had a bit too modern a look, the Grand Cherokee Wagoneer. Wait… Hold up and hold my beer, burger and double barrel. What?

The difference? A PVC wooden boarding around the car and some extra leather. Sentiment, honey, sentiment! You don’t get that!

Ours? As it should actually be, these days. Sorry Jeep Commander, but you lost us. We’re going back to memory lane with this Wagoneer. Concessions? Nope. An LS3 V8 with 430 hp, coupled to an automatic. Chassis completely revised and helped by uncle Brembo and -Bilstein. Visually completely original, extremely poisonous underneath. I’ll see you at the next traffic light, neighbor.
