The story behind this collectible...
The 911, a timeless icon that stands for tight turns and big broad grins. A 6-in-line that you can hear rumble as you raise the revs of that classic. So what's so great about an early 911, and even more specifically, a Targa? Targa (Porsche used to win a lot at the Targa Florio) is an inseparable Porsche style icon. Initially, it was a design based on safety requirements in the USA. Advantages that arose from this: Coupé roadholding and rigidity while still having the wind in your manes.
Many people think that a Porsche 911T stands for a 911 Targa, but nothing could be further from the truth. The 911T stands for 'touring', which is actually Porsche's entry-level model. Yet there are many reasons, apart from affordability, to prefer a T to the top model 911S. The power is built up much more at the bottom in a T, which makes it easier to get away at lower speeds.
Not bad in a country like the Netherlands, is it?
Our Porsche 911 T 2.4? Yup, just like you and me like it. The 2.4 is the fastest and best driving of all F-models (with chrome rosettes and such). Before that they were available in 2.0 and 2.2 litres. Normally the 2.4 was only delivered in the USA with MFI (a small ingenious injection engine), but this one is one of the only ones with MFI delivered in Germany. That can only have been ordered by the German management of Porsche at the time, which makes this car very desirable! The car is fully restored, revised matching engine and comes with a Geburtskunde. All ready to wake up the neighbourhood on a Sunday morning in the dew.
Will you come by soon?
