The story behind this collectible...
Design is not simply art, it is the elegance of function.
- Ferdinand Porsche
The Porsche 356. The car that started it all for Porsche.. Ferdinand Porsche Senior, had already designed the car that would later serve as the Volkswagen Beetle in 1931. His son, Ferry Porsche, laid the foundation for the Porsche 356 in 1939. All the technology initially came from Volkswagen, but this quickly changed. Porsche made adjustments to the engine, gearbox, interior and steering. Later, almost everything was tackled and made Porsche 'own'.
Thanks to the Second World War, the entire concept was put on the bookshelf until 1948. In that year, the first prototypes were born. The new Porsches sold like hot cakes; the new owners were very impressed by the aerodynamics, road holding and build quality. Nevertheless, the 356s are easy to use in everyday traffic. Basic principles that Porsche still strives for today.
Our model, the 356B (T6) was born in Stuttgart in 1961. It was delivered in sunny California. This generation got a fuel cap in the right front fender and two cooling grilles in the nose. In addition, the interior was refreshed and got a back seat. Ours is in very good condition and has a lot of maintenance history. In 2004, the German cruiser crossed over to our country. The beautiful roaring boxer engine was now allowed to make the polders unsafe.
You spontaneously get a smile from mirror to mirror when you drive this German-Californian classic. Just a bit sporty because it is a 1600 super, iconic as always. Many people see this as the classic.
Therefore, both rationally and emotionally, a perfect candidate for the enthusiast!
