The story behind this collectible...

Many enthusiasts would be only too happy to own a sports car from the 1930s, but not be lumped in with the worn and outdated technology. And that's exactly where our Morgan 4/4 1600 comes in. Since its launch seven decades ago, the iconic silhouette has become a defining feature of the car, and that, of course, is incredibly good news. Because it is a picture. Everyone recognizes this car by its timeless and elegant style, and it doesn't get much more British than a true Morgan. The design has remained unchanged since the 1950s which is something we are happy about.

Its name 4/4? It's like this: under the hood is a four cylinder 1600 cc Ford engine that produces 84 HP. The second four? That comes from the fact that the car runs on four wheels. Logical, you would think right? But not for Morgan who initially built cars that ran on three wheels. Groundbreaking revolution thus for the primordial British brand from Malvern!

And then ours. An original Dutch delivered car finished in "Sports Black" with subtle English flags on the side. Cool! On the back is a leather trunk that fits just enough for a weekend of fun with this car. Inside, you immediately notice the wooden dashboard and the seating position where you sit low to the ground and look out over the long elegant hood that is closed with a leather strap. The rest of the interior is beige with leather seats. Not in concours condition but that's not a bad thing. It is a car where you can go on the road without any worries and enjoy it fully. The car has always been maintained by the importer (first Nimag and then Louwman), the engine is modified so you can just fill up with Euro 98 and the invoices of the maintenance are present. Also, this car was power tested last year and in all those years the car has only lost 2 HP.

And as Morgan expert John Worral says: "Nobody would be so cruel as to restore a Morgan to the condition in which it left the factory"! Amen. Will we see you soon?
