Ferrari in the 60s and 70s. A period when road trips became longer, roads connected the corners for the first time and a period when speed cameras belonged to the future. The time when petrol was cheaper than water, smoking was cool and you could let your V12 sing without getting angry looks from Greta. We were born too late. Really.
After the 250 GT/E and the 330 GT 2+2, Ferrari introduced the 365 GT 2+2. Completely new design, available in different ‘body styles’. The 2+2 body was provided by Pininfarina. Built and designed. At the time of its introduction in Paris in ’67, also the largest and most luxurious Ferrari ever built. And that with a relatively high-revving, 4.4 liter 12-cylinder, 320 real thoroughbreds that, after accelerating, kick wonderfully in the four-pipe Marmitte Ansas.
Of the 365 bloodline in the Ferrari family, a little over 800 were eventually born. Of those, a little over half were the GT 2+2. A car that put Ferrari on the map as not only a supercar manufacturer, but a brand that proved that a combination of GT and sports DNA was indeed possible. Something that they had almost forgotten until the FF.
Our 365 is perhaps as you are used to from us, ancora più speciali. During her complete nut & bolt restoration and overhaul, she briefly sat in Schumacher's chair. Her lower lip has been replaced by that of a 250 GTO, which makes it an extra attractive appearance next to the -otherwise completely original and matching Rari-. Beautiful headlights, lady!
