The story behind this collectible...

The very first generation of the Porsche 911, affectionately known in Germany as “das Urmodell der Neunelfer.” This particular example hails from the earliest years of 911 production and is therefore a genuine Short Wheelbase car—one of the purest expressions of the model.

The bodywork was crafted by Karmann, a name synonymous with exceptional German craftsmanship. Together with its accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this underlines the highly collectible nature of this motor car.

Our example is nothing short of exquisite. Between 2016 and 2018, it underwent an extensive, no-expense-spared, body-off restoration. The coachwork was refinished in its original colour, while the mechanical components were meticulously rebuilt and enhanced by APP Racing Engines.

Beneath the rear lid lies the beating heart: the original 2.0-litre air-cooled flat-six, comprehensively rebuilt with lighter pistons and an ‘S’ camshaft, now producing approximately 190 horsepower. Power is delivered through a fully rebuilt, numbers-matching five-speed manual gearbox with the classic H-pattern.

First registered in June 1966 and delivered new to California, USA, this 911 was imported into the Netherlands in 1991, where it has since been cherished by devoted custodians.

The exterior is presented in elegant Silver Metallic, beautifully complemented by a refined black leatherette interior, enhanced with tasteful wooden trim. The car sits on 15-inch Fuchs wheels in silver with black centres, paired with gold brake calipers and Avon tyres, completing its unmistakable stance.

Inside, one finds VDO instrumentation, a characteristic four-spoke steering wheel, and a period-correct Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo system—details that perfectly capture the spirit of the era.

During its restoration, the original engine was not only rebuilt but thoughtfully upgraded, the numbers-matching gearbox reconditioned and refitted, and the brakes, suspension, wiring, and interior all comprehensively renewed to the highest standard. No expense was spared—and it shows in the way the car drives: immediate, precise, and eager. A machine that delivers exactly what you expect, and more—equally at home on a spirited drive as it is effortlessly covering long distances with confidence.

The restoration and history are extensively documented, accompanied by a detailed photographic record.

“Old cars go to scrapyards. Old Porsches go to museums.”
