At the Cool Classic Club, we have a soft spot for E-types. Not just because of the model – but because of what it represents: timeless beauty, technical elegance and that elusive British flair. And when a really good example comes along… we cheer! And that’s what we have here! Because what we have here is not a quick polish or a hasty restoration. This is an E-type with the right character, with an impeccable past, and with a history that is visible in every detail. A rare, unmolested Series 1 3.8 – looking for its next guardian.
Built in 1962, delivered new to Jaguar Cars in New York, and in the hands of the same proud Dutch owner since 1994. A first-class enthusiast, who not only fell in love – but remained loyal for thirty years. He restored the cat from top to bottom with precision and love. No shortcuts, no half measures. Just dedication. More love has been put into it than a British gardener into his rose bed.
When the engine started to show signs of fatigue in 2012 – at 22,000 miles – the engine was completely overhauled, including a new crankshaft. Two years later, she was roaring like new again – stronger, smoother and just as stylish as she had been in ’62. The Series 1 3.8 is the E-type in its purest form: aluminium dash, all the right switchgear, triple carburettors singing their signature tune. Matching numbers, extensive documentation, and a life story rarely so clear to follow. This is an E-type that reflects an enthusiast’s passion in every detail.

"If the E-type was a person, it’d be the one everyone wants to sit next to at the party."
