– Jaguar, the art of style mixed with performance –
And our XJ12 Coupé is no exception. Jaguar’s XJ line was the ‘flagship’ of the feline. After all, XJ also stands for eXperimental Jaguar, in which Jaguar mounted all their latest gadgets and latest engines. For example, the XJ12C (ours) was the fastest four-seater in the world at the time of production. In the end, only 1873 units were built, which makes it a very special ‘collector’s item’.
Many of these XJ12Cs had a vinyl roof to hide the weld seam. In fact, it was a saloon roof that was simply shortened. In this later one, that has already been nicely concealed. Another funny detail are the curved exhausts. This was done by Jaguar because during the wind tunnel tests it appeared that if the exhausts were straight, the exhaust gases easily reached the rear passengers. Of course, if you already smoke big Cubans, this abundance can become toxic. As you can expect from us by now, this one is a little extra special. Completely restored, and technically and optically convincingly cool.
Enough about investments and performance, let's talk fun. A gentleman/lady who drives a Jaguar naturally drives with respect. That means that the sports cat of yesteryear must purr quietly, not roar. In the car world it is sometimes said that the car resembles its owner. However, this cat also knows how to take the owner along in its grandeur. When you get in this car, you immediately get the feeling that you have knowledge of opera, wine, politics and poetry. You stop at the zebra crossing, and promise pedestrians a safe crossing with a calm, friendly nod and a Beatrix-like wave. Once you arrive at the Grand Café, the landlord rushes towards you with a neatly groomed moustache and your usual ‘midnight treat’, a glass of champagne on his tray.
This Jaguar XJ12C carries an aura of chic with it, looking for an owner like you. Come drive quickly and experience what it feels like to be ‘a decent person with class’.
