Plymouth GTX 440

Het verhaal achter deze...
The Plymouth GTX, the end of an era. In 1967, the first Plymouth GTX came onto the market. The goal? An ideal mix of style and performance. The GTX was recognizable by its special grille, racing stripes, air scoop and a rear that we had already seen once before. Namely, that of the Satellite. Secretly, the car had a completely different goal than an ideal mix of style and performance. The Plymouth GTX 440 had to compete against 'the big boys'. Such as the Camaro SS, Mustang Shelby and the Dodge Charger. Because let's be honest, air scoops, racing stripes and Mopar.. It says enough.
In 1971, they decided in St. Louis to give the car a new look and that is how the Fuselage was born. This model had much rounder lines and was the direct result of continuous aero tests that Chrysler had been involved in. It proved its worth on the NASCAR circuit where this design took Richard Petty to 21 crown victories and the very first Winston Cup title of that season.
Our fuselage originally comes from Germany and was brought to the Netherlands in 2015 to make the neighborhood crazy. Under the ‘Power Bulge’ lies a 375 HP strong Plymouth 440 7.2 liter Mopar V8, also known as the ‘Super Commando 440’. She has recently been fully checked by the specialist and is ready to be unleashed on the streets. See you soon?
