Het verhaal achter deze...

A Cool Classic of Cool Classics: the Jaguar E-type Series 1 3.8 OTS. Our OTS is halfway through its nut and bolt restoration. All parts are present and in very good condition.

The complete restoration has been documented so far. Invoices are present (only original parts). In addition to its excellent condition, the car still has its original gearbox and engine, which makes it a matching numbers. This can be checked, the car has a Jaguar Heritage Certificate.

In addition to the extensive documentation, new condition and finish, this Jag is finished in one of the most beautiful color combinations: Opalscent Grey with a black interior. This is how the E-type was born at the time, which also makes it a matching color.

The E-type Series I was introduced in Europe on March 15, 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show and in the United States in April of the same year at the New York Motor Show. When the car was first shown, Enzo Ferrari called it 'The most beautiful car ever made'. He is right to this day!

The car was designed as a two-seater GT coupe (FHC) and a two-seater convertible (OTS). For the first six months, only a few E-types were built with left-hand drive, mainly for the American market. Only a few were built for the British market and these were supplied to specially selected celebrities. The rest had to wait for another six months. Ours is from the very early batch, around 150 production numbers after the flat floor.

The Series 1 was given a 3.8-litre straight-six engine which came from the XK150S, a famous and already proven engine.
All E-types were given independent suspension and servo-assisted disc brakes on all four wheels, two unusual features for the time. The 3.8-litre versions had leather-covered bucket seats, a centrally mounted aluminium instrument panel. All this is also present. Due to circumstances, the previous enthusiast was unable to finish what he was working on; However, almost everything is already prepared and still needs to be assembled.
