Citroen DS 20

Popularly known as the 'Pike' or the 'Iron'. The Citroën DS; a French example of design and groundbreaking technology. Flaminio Bertoni, designer of the DS, designed the car so that aerodynamics and practicality go hand in hand. The car must have a well driving, which hence the front wheels are a further out of the rear wheels.

The hydropneumatic system was very brightly his time. When starting, the DS lifts up and you as the driver can determine the ride height. Fun fact: when the DS is in the highest, you can even take one of the two back wheels off and still get home! We didn't try it, but Charles de Gaulle thanks to his life to the DS, which knew able to get away with two flat bands on a substantial speed!

Additional, the DS is giantly good on downhill and even the American Cadillacs are silent by the suspension comfort. The brake system also was innovative and worked on the same hydropneumatic system. Het 'paddenstoelvormige rempedaal' reageert zeer snel en geeft direct de volledige remkracht.

Onze DS20 is volledig gerestaureerd en het motorblok en de versnellingsbak zijn gereviseerd. Tijdens de revisie zijn de cilinderbussen vergroot, waardoor het een '21-motor' is geworden. De compressiemeting kwam op alle cilinders boven de 13 bar (!) uit. Daarnaast zijn alle HD-leidingen vernieuwd, is de stuurinrichting gereviseerd en is de ontsteking omgebouwd naar 1,2,3-ontsteking. Er is uitgebreide documentatie beschikbaar, inclusief alle APK-rapporten, aangezien deze DS 'zweeft' op de Nederlandse wegen.

Wie wil deze DS meenemen op vakantie? Ze is al een paar keer in Rome en Parijs geweest en is klaar voor nog veel meer plezier!
