The story behind this collectible...
"In the beginning I looked around and, not finding the automobile of my dreams, I built it myself."
– Porsche
The Porsche 911: King and champion in releasing different versions, each more limited (read: more popular) than the other. And they do it, no matter how commercial, simply great. In the land of the gun-slinging roses, ‘limited’ versions sold even better than in the EU. That’s why uncle Ferdi brought all his new limited versions to the US during the first two years of production. His latest version at the time was the Porsche 3.0 SC Weissach.
Weissach refers to the town of Weissach, where Porsche, how could it be otherwise, opened a ‘special wishes’ department. Option code M439, for the purist. Half were born in black, the other half in Platinum Metallic. Did you get anything else from the special wishes department? Sure; lavishly equipped for the pioneers! The cake shovel of the 930, fog lights in the bumper, the chassis provided by Bilstein, electric sliding roof and four radio speakers! Inside? Turbo seats, an average cowshed of leather hides, finished with red piping/striping. Go crazy, Ferdinand!
Ours? Well. As it should be. Totally restored, overhauled and has only given out smiles for 70 thousand kilometers. And very noble: the proceeds of this beautiful car will largely go to charity. See you soon?
