Het verhaal achter deze...

"What's behind you doesn't matter." - Enzo Ferrari

Ferrari makes a whole other category of "goosebump creators". The twelve-cylinder four-seaters (Grand Tourers). A category for people who appreciate the speed and sound of a Ferrari, but don't want to combine the nervousness and lack of comfort in their daily miles. Within this category falls our beautiful 612 Scaglietti.

The predecessor of the 612 was the Ferrari 456M GT. Also one of the most beautiful, understated and classy Grand Tourers of all time. Compared to Aston Martin and Mercedes, who in turn liked to share in this ranking, were technically much more modern than the Ferrari. Ferrari had to work to catch up. To put the Mercedes CL600 and the Aston Martin DB9 in the shade, Ferrari engineers had a huge job. The Ferrari feeling in a car that was comfortable. Easy entry and exit, comfortable seats, good infotainment and luxury in an Italian sports car. They came up with a purebred sports car: engine behind the front axle and transmission on the rear axle (a transaxle), with of course only the rear wheels driven by the atmospheric V12 with 540 soaring Modena horses.

The body was designed by Pinifarina. There are clear nods of the one-of Ferrari 375 MM Speciale in the design. The creases in the body and headlights seem to come directly from here. Because all the luxury had made the 612 "a little fat," an all-aluminum design was chosen with a space frame welded directly to the body. The name Scaglietti came from Sergio Scagletti, a coachbuilder in the finest sense of the word. An artist with the beating of aluminum.

The name 612 stands for 6 liter 12 cylinder. The block was a Tipo F133D, exactly the same block as the 575M SuperAmerica. So a bit of a joking aside, as the block is "only" a 5.7 liter. Here the compromises fortunately end, the GT sprints to 100 in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 320 kmh.

Our 612 Scaglietti is executed in Nero Daytona and is in absolute new condition. The full service history, original books and keys are available. Our 612 was originally delivered in Italy and is currently owned by the third owner. In 2005, also the first year of production, it was delivered alongside 863 other examples worldwide.

"Everyone dreams of driving a Ferrari, it was my passion from the start."
