The story behind this collectible...

One does not drive these beautiful cars often enough to grow accustomed to them.
- Rolls Royce, sixties

You know that feeling when you book an expensive hotel room with your sweetheart. You step inside and enjoy the fact that everything feels exaggeratedly soft but still firm. You plop down and tell each other that the holiday feeling is already creeping in. That feeling is what Rolls Royce wants to promise its owners every day.

In pre-war times, there were already a lot of Rolls Royce owners who owned a house in the South of France. Many of them took a picture with a straw hat and boat shoes at the ‘Grand-Corniche’, a breathtaking view on the French Riviera. In order to appeal to this audience with a beautiful luxury convertible, the Rolls Royce open touring was christened the Corniche.

As a stunt to demonstrate the comfort, Rolls Royce drove the convertible up and down to Marseille from the factory in one day. This was a hit, which resulted in immense popularity, so that even the richest of the rich had to wait a long time before they could let their hair fly in style. It is clear what the car is intended for, enjoying absolute luxury in the most beautiful sunniest places on earth. The previous owner, a Rolls Royce fanatic and collector, did exactly that last year; up and down to St. Tropez in the Rolls Royce Corniche.

This Rolls Royce was delivered in 1981 by Frank Dale. A name that may not mean anything to you at first glance, but they have been specialized in delivering Bentley and Rolls Royce since 1942. After that, the car drove newlyweds for a long time. For that, the wedding car company had to make sure that the car was always polished to the max and perfectly maintained. Last year, the car had a very thorough service at Stoffels Classic Cars; In short, a classic that you can drive to many oyster parties in the South of France with panache.
