The story behind this collectible...

The land of superlatives, Country music, American Football, Drag racing and of course Nascar. The United States of America indeed. What you may not know; also the country of the oldest endurance race that is still held today. The Indianapolis 500.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway was built in 1909 and was one of the first highways in America. Since then, the first race was already in 1909; the Prest-O-Lite, an annual event was organized, in which cars and motorcycles covered long distances. This quickly grew into a serious endurance race; 500 miles (800 km). Since 1911, this race has been organized annually. In 2011, the 100th anniversary of the titan race was held.

In that race, our Cool Classic (to be) raced as a Pace Car! Chevrolet had pulled out their newest Camaro SS Convertible especially for this special moment in history. Do you think you recognize the stickers? That's right, this was also a nod, but to the original Camaro SS that also competed in 1969 as a Pace Car. With its 'Summit White' exterior and orange-red stickers, it is an impressive appearance. The fact that you are driving something very special is constantly subtly emphasized. The racing stripes that continue from the hood into your interior, the special exhaust system that treats you to an extra dark brown roar, a head-up system with a rev counter projected onto the windshield and of course the signature under the hood.

In addition to all the cool details, the Camaro is also equipped with all the documentation; even the car's access card for the paddock is still included! Looking for a piece of American history, equipped with all the modern conveniences? This is it!
