Jaguar XK 140
Specifications
The Jaguar XK140. The successor to the XK120. A truly English sports car produced by Jaguar between 1954-1957, in the, in our humble opinion, only correct color combination of a British classic. British Racing Green with a Beige interior.
This XK140 was fully restored in 2001 after arriving in Spain from the USA, as well as the engine which was then completely overhauled. Since 2012, this Jaguar has traded the land of tapas and bulls for clogs and tulips, after which it was maintained by Thijmen Fokker (Jaguar specialist). After restoration, the car has driven only 5000 kilometers.
Compared to the XK120, the XK140 had more interior space, better brakes, a larger suspension travel and telescopic shock absorbers. Apart from the technical aspects, also the optical aspects were changed. The front and rear bumper got overriders, indicators above the front bumpers.
In 1956, the XK140 was the first Jaguar sports car to be offered with automatic transmission. As with the XK120, wire wheels and dual exhausts were optional. This XK140 is equipped with both options, which makes its appearance as a true Jaguar should be, a beautiful sports car with contained potential.
