Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 2+2
Specifications
The yellow paintwork has been redone once in the past. The same goes for the leather interior trim. Other elements, including the distinctive 3-spoke wooden steering wheel, breathe just enough patina to make you feel like you’ve stepped into something historic (beautiful). Because that’s what it is!
This Jaguar E-type series 1.5 2+2 started necking in America. The first owner had the car in his possession until 2000, after which this beautiful E-type was brought to the Netherlands by the current owner. The second owner has taken great care of the car in recent years. Technically, the car has been completely renewed and has been restored with great care. The car comes with many photo reports, documentation and original invoices. Besides the condition of the car, there are only 637 units of the type 1.5 2+2 made. Rarer than its successor, which had a total of 5598 units.
From 1967 to 1968, an intermediate series with the unofficial name 1 1/2 was built as a transitional phase. These models bore a close resemblance to the Series 1 but at the end no longer had the glass-covered headlights and different control levers. Gradually equipment from the upcoming Series 2 was added while the bodywork always remained that of the Series 1. At Jaguar itself, these 1 1/2s were simply subsumed under the Series 1.
We could talk for hours about the incredibly beautiful design of the E-Type. Let’s do that over a cup of coffee. In this story we want to emphasize the beautiful condition of the body and cockpit; with matching numbers!
